Tranquility

Tranquility
By: Jessica Foster

The waves crash in
the golden sun sets
a breeze begins to blow

The salty sea air
tickles your nose
heaven begins to show

The cool sand
between your toes
tranquility set a glow

This image was taken on a beautiful beach in Carlsbad, CA near sunset during summer a few years ago. I named this picture tranquility for several reasons. First off, just looking at this image seems to have an almost calming effect. Also, when I was younger, I used to go to this beach quite often to relax and just listen to the waves crashing on the shore. It seemed like nothing negative could follow you to this spot. Even the smell of the salty air combined with the cool breeze, sounds, and general atmosphere seemd to have an almost healing effect for the soul.

There is nothing quite as tranquil as the gentle hues, sounds and smells of sunset at the beach. The warm sand at your toes giving way to the cool breeze just starting to blow. The sound of the waves rhythmically crashing against the shore as the salty sea air tickles your nose. The vibrant colors of the day fading into the softer tones of the evening. Truly a romantically tranquil experience to behold.
